Cataloguing, object description, interpretation practices: a Zotero Library:

Provisional Semantics – GLAM cataloguing resources and guidance

I put together this Zotero Library as part of the Provisional Semantics project(2020-22). The purpose was to collate the guidance and research available to support galleries, libraries, archives, and museums (GLAM), and the wider UK heritage sector to engage critically in professional practices that involve recording, writing, and generating knowledge about art and artefacts. The specific focus is on addressing structural racism and the still prevalent hegemony of traditional, western, colonial forms of knowledge production.

Ethical practice in tech and cultural heritage projects: on Zotero

Ethics as Practice_People, Data and Research

This library supports the Ethics as Practice: Report on the 1st Discovery Project Ethics Workshop (2024). The workshop, held on 23 January 2024, brought together representatives from the Discovery Projects and the UKRI-AHRC’s TaNC programme directorate to explore ethical concerns and develop recommendations for policy and practice. The report outlines the workshop methodology, objectives, and provides a synthesis of group discussions to inform future interdisciplinary and cross-sector research programmes. We hope that this collection of material also serves as useful resource for ethical research and practice guidance at the intersection of museums, archives and libraries, data and technology, academic research and public audiences and stakeholders.
